Jay Balaban

Jay Balaban

Growing up in a real estate family, Jay Balaban has been taking care of people's real estate needs for most of his life. Jay's enthusiasm and talent for New/Now/Next technologies bring the Surrealtors' buyers and sellers an edge in search, marketing, and negotiation. Examples include the custom websites he develops for properties we list and his certification in the Energy Star program.

Jay's real estate career has included obtaining his broker's license after 10 years listing and selling properties at Prudential as well as 7 years experience as head paralegal for a local real estate law office. As an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP), Jay advises our sellers on how to polish, arrange, and present their property to increase selling price and reduce days on market.

His mastery at overseeing the myriad tiny details that make up a real estate transaction assures that everything is handled properly so that clients can relax and start packing. Jay is not only a technology and transaction wizard. He is also known for his caring, exceeding people's expectations by going above and beyond. Jay enjoys working on his 9 room stucco colonial.

Kathy Power

Kathy Power brings 8 years of experience with the Surrealtor team and 25 years of experience in marketing, customer service, and business consulting. She talks like a banker, listens like a therapist, and acts as a good friend. With her perceptive understanding of what you want and need, she is effective at producing real estate results for you.

Kathy's skill at financial analysis of real estate investments is expressed in The Surrealtors' Investment Decision Worksheet, which helps buyers and sellers to calculate scenarios, compare properties and make sound decisions.

Kathy's life experiences include building a house from the ground up and conceptualizing, designing, and operating a successful restaurant. Kathy also does development for AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. She has a Masters in Philosophy, Ethics, and Writing and is a  published writer.
